TMCC Adds Women’s Volleyball

Mighty Lizard Athletics has announced the addition of Women’s Volleyball, becoming the third athletics program hosted on campus after the addition of Men’s and Women’s Soccer in 2019. This announcement comes after the Nevada System of Higher Education’s (NSHE) Board of Regents approved an additional athletics budget last December to add the sport. Women’s Volleyball will play its home matches in the Joseph P. Ayarbe Gymnasium inside the TMCC Sports and Fitness Center beginning in 2026.

TMCC Volleyball will compete in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) within Region XVIII along with Utah State University Eastern, Snow College, Salt Lake Community College, College of Southern Idaho, North Idaho College and Colorado Northwestern Community College.

A national search for a coach will take place immediately, with the intent of having one hired before the upcoming Fall Semester Auditions will take place prior to Spring Semester 2026 in hopes of competing in offseason matches prior to the start of the inaugural campaign.

The addition of the new women’s intercollegiate volleyball team is a monumental step forward for the TMCC athletics program. We believe this program will serve the strong volleyball community in the Reno-Sparks area!

Youth Soccer Camps

Calling all kids ages 5-14! TMCC will host its third year of Youth Soccer Camps this summer! The first session will be held July 7–11, while session two will be held July 14–18, with both half-day and full-day options.

Over the course of five days, participants will learn basic and advanced soccer skills, and hone skills they may already possess in regards to dribbling, passing, shooting, possession and situational awareness. Our camps promote a fun, proactive culture where all skill levels acquire knowledge of each tactical aspect taught.

TMCC offers discounts for staff, multi-child families, and military! Please Contact us for more information.

Looking to the Future

As Men’s and Women’s Soccer gears up for next season, our coaching staff remains hard at work recruiting the next generation of Mighty Lizards. Both teams just completed their spring soccer schedules, which featured competition from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), NJCAA and local club teams!

Your generosity is the key to our success, helping student-athletes focus on their goals while easing financial burdens. Please consider giving now as we continue to seek scholarship support for TMCC student-athletes. We’re grateful for your support and look forward to an exciting year ahead.
